Re: Florida & Caribbean

If you choose Aruba, look at Surinam Airways. THey only hit me for $300 round trip from Miami, offer two pieces of luggage included plus carry on, and did not charge extra for my kiteboard. Be aware they only cover $500 for lost luggage though and they do NOT sell Excess Value coverage. I took my ki...

Question on line length

Hey guys, I have a question for the more experienced on here. My kites (12m and 16m 2013 LF NRGs) come with two bars that each have 23m line lengths. I also have a complete set of separate 15m line extensions that came with my 16m. If I were to only connect the 15m lines in place of the 23m lines, e...

Islamorada spots

Can anyone share info on spots in Islamorada? I am thinking of driving down tomorrow (Wed 4/2) and Thursday. 15mph wind from the east, good for my 16m NRG Light Breeze. I was thinking Anne's Beach, but have never been to Islamorada before and did not wish to wander around looking for beaches. Keys h...

Re: Need tips for self-landing

Thanks for the replies all. Yes I do know how to self rescue, but I was hoping for a better way to self land. I COULD use a beach goer but generally I stay as far away from non-kiters as possible when landing. Wind conditions were supposed to be in the 20s mph range, ideal for my 12m kite. After lau...

Need tips for self-landing

Ok so as someone new to kitesurfing I am spending alot of time out there alone. Launching is pretty easy where I am but self landing is far more complex due to crowded beaches. THe other day in high winds I was abit overpowered (kept lofting me up 10 ft or so abov the water no matter what I did) and...

Re: March & the Caribbean - where has reliable wind?

If you can handle a layover in Amsterdam, there are always flights to Aruba from AMS.

Re: KSing and Calories

I don't know, but after yesterdays's session, all of my muscles are stiff and sore and my energy levels are really low. I workout alot too, gym 3 times a week, swimming 3x45min per week, and running 15-20mi per week. So its unusual for me to get exhausted from anything. I am a noob though, so I wipe...

Re: Who's been in my shoes? Being a beginner sucks!

I'm currently a beginner but I love it. Even body dragging can be entertaining. Reminds me of boogie boarding but with propulsion. I prefer slightly deeper water though - the beaches are just too crowded for my tastes. Body drag out, play in the bay, surf in if you can or body drag in if you cannot ...
