Re: North Rebel 2012 review please!

Hi piccio, You are really funny, but i undestand your dilemma... About Evo vs Rebel, Rebel windrange is more worthy for very gusty spots than the better turning behaviour of Evo for wave riding. For "big sizes" (9m and above), definitely Rebel, as Evos feel "trucky". I will try the new Evo 7m to see...

Re: North Rebel 2012 review please!

Just figured out that setting your lines to the connection point closest to the T.E. the kite will turen quickest :-). I was on 2008 Rebels before, and just before the 2012 Rebels i was on RRD Religion 6 & 9 meters. I did like the RRD for their speedy turns, but didn't like the way the fluttered in...

Re: North Rebel 2012 review please!

I was out on my 7 m2 2012 Rebel yesterday in 25-27 knts wind. The board i used was a 2012 Kontact 6'0. I weigh 90 Kg. What i found was that the kite wasn't that quick to what i hoped it would be, but after a few tags i got used to it and loved the kite! Changed the settings of the steering lines on...

Re: North Rebel 2012 review please!

Hello, The bad part: - A 9m is a 9m. Not a 7m. The 9m kites that feel like 7m (typically freestyle kites) are in fact 7m, and in those kites you need a 11m to have a 9m. :jump: What's the bad part there? I prefer that a 9m kite acts as a 9m kite.... if not it can be confusing choosing sizes.... :) ...

Re: North Rebel 2012 review please!

Hello, To start i think that papand is right. No great change from last year as there is not much to improve! I had a very good "test" session yesterday. 9m in winds avg 16 knots with lulls on 10 and gusts on 20 with powerfull 2m sets. Yummi! The good part: - The kite has a great look, the bag too a...

You have answered your own question :-)
Much more forgiving in the highend and same lowend.
And a lighter bar pressure. If you don't like that, it can be adjusted.

Re: North Rebel 2012 review please!

I always ride on waves, always on Rebels and with 5th line. No issues. The only relaunch problem i have is that i ride them with so little wind side-on that it is impossible to relaunch when i drop them in the waves

Just arrived and ready to test

Re: What North Rebel combo to choose??

Just to add my personal experience about 6+9 or 5+7+9. I only have 9m, 7m and 5m and it is the perfect combo. I almost only use the 5'9 board. 6'0 in very low wind days. I ride from 15 to 40++ knots. I tried to have only 9m+6m (in 2009) but there are a lot of 7m days where i ended up using the 9m an...

Re: What North Rebel combo to choose??

Hi, It all comes down to the predominant winds you have in that 15-35 range... 8m seems too short for your weight below 18-19 knots... 6m+9m if your predominant winds are closer to upper windrange 7m+10m if your predominant winds are closer to the lower windrange That said, i don't like kites bigger...

Re: Rebel 2012

I am only with a single kite now, a 7m 2011 (it feels perfect, does it all by the way), waiting for 2012 5m and 9m, no specific color, all look great!
