All the bars I've bought new have come with a little loop thingy that velco's around the spreader bar ... is that what you mean? You can see it dangling out the front, on the RHS of the picture - LHS of the SB - with the metal D-ring on the end ... dunno what they're called though. Just a loop that ...

I have a ProTec, think it's an ace - had an ace sticker on it years ago anyway - but ... when your head goes underwater and you pop back up, after about a second it dumps a bunch of water down into your face :( maybe all helmets do that, but I'd go a different brand next time. Triple-8 helmets look ...
