Re: Opinions on new kite size

Magbre, I think the 5m would compliment your quiver and benefit your 60kg girlfriend who is relatively new to the sport. I am 75kg and use kite sizes down to 4m for twintips, foil, and surf quite often. My thought is that strong winds can be intimidating at times, especially for those new to the spo...

Re: Ozone cracking valves

The kites are in good conditions so I am replacing all old valves. I wonder in what year did Ozone introduced the V2 valves. It would be great to avoid future 2nd hand purchases with the same issue. The new V2 valves look totally different in shape, size and color and currently have that opaque/tra...

Re: Ozone cracking valves

Petato2, In general all kites manufacture valves/bladders will fail at some point and frustrating when they do, especially when starting or in a session. The good news is that Ozone now have the V2 valves and bladders available for your older model kites which have the V1 valves/bladders. When will ...

Re: Bye Soul, hi UFO or Alpha maybe?

Hi All, I've gotten frustrated with my beloved Soul 10m. Yes, it's a love-hate relationship. I love how it's rock stable at zenith in anything over 8kts and gets my foiling super reliable at 10kts. However now I find that as I start to try new stuff (tacking and hammering through the gybes harder) ...

Re: Hyperlink collapses and fills with water

Koter, 5kts is very light and definitely pushing the lightwind limit. My points to add, would to be keep the kite moving, and keep a drop more line tension, by sheeting in the bar a touch, so the kite doesnt overshoot itself and collapse. Looping the kite in the gybes also would be recommended...aga...

Re: How difficult are the various foiling discplines?

Conditions and being on very forgiving gear play a huge part in determining how fast one will progress with a foiling discipline. It is not always easy to get those perfect days when learning but when you do, learning will be much easier. For me learning to SUP foil took a few more sessions as condi...

Re: How difficult are the various foiling discplines?

The easiest was Wingfoiling then windfoiling, kitefoiling, supfoiling, surf foiling. Started kitefoiling 8 years ago and by the end of a two hour session was foiling both directions and cranking upwind. If you are a intermediate to advance windsurfer and on a freerace foilng setup, you should be abl...

Re: toeside tack QR opens

Wavy Navy, just checking if your QR was engaged and opened the chicken loop or if the chicken loop popped off the harness hook? Some chicken loops are more prone to working their way off the harness hook when the lines are slack eg just before launching. It is not until the rider puts some heavy ten...

Re: Hyperlink collapses and fills with water

Wavy Navy, Pushing the light wind limits on a foil can end up with them down and unable to relaunch. If you feel that you are not going to be able to relaunch the kite then doing a self rescue is advised to minimize the amount of water will fill inside the foil. Sit on your foil board if possible, t...

Re: Ozone Edge v11

Edge seems to overfly often during the jump (compared to my old kites), have to learn heli loops. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_RM-uHQLho& Could the overflying possibly be down to your technique rather than kite? Near the end of your video it looks like you might possibly be sheeting out too fa...
