Re: is super light wind the promised land?!

To clarify: A few like you can see, dont bother in less than 10-12 knots, but very rare to see. But with a 15 m2 foilkite you CAN foil in 6-8 knots, and have some amazing great days you would never believe was possible  I prefer LEIs myself, so got 12 and 13 m2 strutless/onestrut LEI for r...

Re: When she says go deeper but you're all out of tension

Yes, keep the kite high about 45 degree so you get lift and can foil in less wind and even deeper, and keep the speed up. Just keep the kite steady if you prefer that, a lot more relaxed yes, you will be able to go quite deep when you find the "perfect point" where you got sufficient speed to keep l...

Work the kite as said, and/or keep it high and never low when lightly powered - and keep the speed up :thumb:

Re: Mast length pros vs cons

I have a 70cm mast and do mostly long distance freeriding. I am confident on the board but very much a beginner. What I find is: When you go over a shallow part (<1m) foiling, short/long does not really matter until you have to stop or touchdown to change directions. Very often I would have found m...

Re: Mast length pros vs cons

Hi, when it comes to free ride/surf kite foiling, what is gained and lost in mast length? When it comes to the short masts, I assume you gain the ability to ride in more shallow water and are closer to the pulse of a wave or a swell but lose the ability to ride straight over chop and whitecaps? I a...

Re: “Light” wind tubes

re-reading your post, I think riding 10m for 9-10kts is a little ambitious.. Yes it works as foils are pretty efficient, but on certain directions, you just don't have enough juice from the kite, imho.. In below 12kts I prefer my 17 Zephyr.. It's not particularly light, but I swear to God I can kee...

Re: How high are you pointing upwind? Are 30° already possible?

Racers only aim for higher pointing if they have missed the mark just slightly, and can pinch up over, instead of 2 extra tacks that would be slower. Years ago we saw Nicolas parlier as I remember, going 27-28 degree to the wind :D And going even higher is probably possible, but vmg is what everybod...

Re: Board size Benefits

So, I currently ride a GW 101 with a moses 590. THe board is a LF Galaxy 4'8". LOve the board, it has changed the way i am foiling. Have about 50% of my foot transfers. I feel really comfortable on it. I was going to get the new 4'2" because it is much easier to travel with. I have to fly to kite s...
