I am not fully convinced about this one. You are right that above parameters are really important for the very planing limit - BUT, if you are experienced, you can pump even the smallest mutants onto a plane at full speed - and then the fins are driving it even in very light wind ! Fin size definite...

I did not know this was still a topic. IMO above shackle should be banned from kitesurfing ! Even in yacthing, there are many who changes to the more expensive Wichard Schackle - because they have had their release stuck in critical mark roundings, and had to fumble a long time, before releasing (be...

So true Mel - but we are used to the difference in kitepower at different heights (0-30 meter) as we kite in this everyday. The other effect (wind power changing at THE SAME windspeeds) is what most people don't know the effect and magnitude of. It is of no real importance, because as mentioned it w...

Damn - I was so happy with this easy to read and relaxing to my eyes colors it has now. I hate white backgrounds, as they are very tiresome for the eyes when exposed for longer periods. And many of us have to work on a computer for a living, so it is of utmost importance. There could be a better and...

It is an estimation, as birds have feathers, so in fact they are single skinned at the trailing edge, and forward to a specific point, where the bones and muscles are. But because many seagulls have quite perfect wings - it is not this simple. They have a really fine tapering of the thickness toward...

I made a list of the max. performance data of the best Gliders, Hanggliders etc. Also added a few Seagulls/Birds (taken from the classic F.W Schmitz). http://home20.inet.tele.dk/pf/images/compareperformance.gif When you are about to go out kitesurfing, and someone passes along you on the beach, the ...

I often don't trust my wind meter, and often add 5 knots to its reading windspeed if it says it's 15, and I know I can use my X2-12, but if it's hitting 20 then I can't go out!! It would be interesting to see a graph taking into account air temperature/...
