Re: Zeeko spitfire and Canards in general

This is the first iteration XXLW in 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev2ONG54_EI I honestly don't think this is the Spitfire XXLW, the wings look a bit more elongated than on the production model. And of course you wouldn't expect someone constantly doing R&D to ride production models. But any...

News just in :thumb:: Where did you see this? Zeeko Facebook page. Someone asked (not me). I am excited, I hope they update the kitefoil version of Spitfire aswell. Interesting! Lets see what the 2nd iteration can do. This is the first iteration XXLW in 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev2ONG5...

Re: Zeeko spitfire and Canards in general

Spitfire glides less? How do you compare? It does feels less stable, I do have difficulty to change the feet while foiling, I end almost always touching down the board, but I never associated this with the less gliding, but rather on the less stability. This "glides less" is something that needs ob...

Re: Ground effect and hydrofoiling

They would probably come across ground effects concerns in a hydrofoil test tank. They would probably be wanting to avoid them affecting their results.

Re: Ground effect and hydrofoiling

Interesting - but difficult to see the "comparison", what the outcome was? How much difference did they feel. Do you think there is more explanation or a YouTube/Vimeo video where one can see it bigger/fullscreen instead? 8) Peter I doubt there is more video. Horue might be the best chance of some ...

Re: Foldable mast

Another foil that is movable.

The SABFoil Kraken system is another possibility for getting the mast out of the way and attaching it in deeper water?

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

He puts it in the water between 3:50 and 4:50. Problem is you will drift toward the kite and the lines will go slack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItypdcQU_hc The original wing - with Flash Austin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xb1XbqxmusY It depends on how much you need the kite to do. https:/...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

Very interesting ideas and experiments. Another possibility - because the leading edge is tapered - is the possibility of molding each side of the leading edge as a tapered tube in 3D. In windsurfing they are now molding sails in 3D and curing the layup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWJHFHXrUIY M...
