I gave up, tried again in Aruba, where the water is flat and shallow enough near shore. This time it clic...

Re: Is Cabarete Good for Beginners?

Cabarete, and the north coast of the DR is a very big area. There are good spots and bad spots for beginners, wave spots and flat spots, beginner and advanced places and everything in between. Kite Beach, for example, has a reef that protects an inside area where hundreds of beginner kitesurfers com...

Re: Cabarete, prices and accommodation?

Cabarete in July is typically amazing for kiteboarding, with daily wind in the 20K + range. There are a variety of accommodation options for budget travelers, from hostels to cheap hotels. Because July is typically a busy month, best to book in advance, however lately a lot of people leave things to...

Sepetmeber is still good in Cabarete, and almost no crowds on the beach.

Tarifa is also good.

Re: Advice on cabarete

Cabarete has matured a fair bit the last couple years, yet retains it's fun vibe. You will have no problem finding someone to teach you advanced lessons, just look around when you get here, and see who you get along with- best to avoid those who 'pimp' themselves on the forums. March is typically a ...

Re: Looking for an expert of the entire Caribbean

There are plenty of places that offer butter flat waters and good wind. Many of the islands of the southern Bahamas have sandbars just off the island and the water is about 1 m deep inbetween, allowing for epic flat water kiting. The DR also has plenty of undiscovered flat water kiting, out near mon...

Re: Bahamas in December

The wind in the Bahamas is from the storm fronts, and the range is huge. Best to bring your whole quiver as there are a variety of conditions.

If you have time, surfer's beach in eluthera is amazing.

have fun
