Re: Is the pond at Huguenot Park open?

Thanks for the reply, and good to meet you today. Too funny that I didn't know I had a reply to this until you told me.

Huguenot is a great spot so I am really glad they got parts of it open again and let everyone use it. Seemed like a very kite friendly staff at the park as well.

Is the pond at Huguenot Park open?

Heading to Jacksonville next week and was wondering if anyone knows if you can kite in the pond at Huguenot. I know the park just re-opened but the website says the campgrounds and pavilions are still closed. Looks like west winds are likely next week so I hope its usable. Thanks for any info.

Re: Jay 2017 Game Changer

I like the Jay leg straps, but I hated the shorts that came with them. They were just awkward and made it a pain to adjust the leg straps. I just wear the leg straps over whatever shorts or wetsuit I am wearing.

Re: Suicide Mode Well Powered?

You should not have your leash attached to the end of the trim line that you pull in on the compstick. Clip the leash to the metal ring at the CL that has the red webbing handle on it. That way when you trim in a bunch, the only thing flopping around is the line with the plastic grab handle on it. ...

Re: Suicide Mode Well Powered?

I do this on my older Compsticks because when I pull in a bunch of depower, the excess flag line with weight of the leash attached to it tends to flop around and I have had it wrap my CL and centerline at times. I get that if the CL comes off the hook I cant release it until I retrieve it, but I am ...

Re: What don't you like about foiling.

What I don't like is the dilemma that foiling poses on medium wind days. Light wind, hands down I want to foil. High wind I want to boost with a TT. Its those mediocre days where I cant decide whether to put up a 13m and jump, or put up a 9m and foil. With limited days of wind off work, I highly va...

Re: I suck at jybes

I'm having the same trouble and only riding the foil 1 or 2 times a month isn't helping. My only successes thus far were from dropping off plane keeping the kite high and slow. At that point my limited surfboard habits take over so left to right, I switch feet after the turn and right to left, I swi...

Re: Liquid Force Solo V1 12.0 to powered for hydrofoiling??

So does a good hydrofoiling kite have the same qualities as a good surf/wave kite (in LEIs)? At my beginner stage (riding on plane both directions, but no luck with transitions) I am having good luck using my Renegade 13 Ltd in the 8 to 14kt range. I am looking for something more docile and gust fri...
