Re: lost slingshot glide board in Cap Hatteras

I did the same thing, and have also found 3 boards floating in the sound or in the marsh. So do not feel that bad, you are not the first. Definitely email all the shops, people often turn them in.

Re: Your worst kitesurf injury ?

Here is a strange one. I was in the ocean on a long downwinder. I just jumped off my board to take a break on the outside beyond the surf. When I eventually reached back to grab my board I put pressure on the nose which raised the tail into the air. The wind caught the tail and whipped it into my fa...

Re: Private lesson in North Carolina

Blown Island doesn't close due to power outages it's a sandbar. If power isn't restored to the OBX it's a no-brainer For someone who has lived in both places for an extended time, it is not comparable. When it is blowing 20-25 in OBX it is blowing 10-15 in Emerald isle. The OP said they were lookin...

Re: Strapless skills

Not sure about others, but nobody rides like this at my local launch sites. There are a few OBX local kids riding like that. Here are two Reider Decker https://vimeo.com/147386230 Evan Netsch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x706yeOIOT8 Both videos are 2 years old and both are going bigger and more ...

Re: Strapless board for a big guy

There is a volume point that corresponds to rider weight. At my weight (80kg) its around 30l. 30L? Seems like a pretty corky board for someone at that weight, unless you are riding pretty light wind conditions. I am a little under that and most people I know are on 20-25L at that weight. We ride mo...

There has been a couple of threads on FB reviews http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2394392&hilit=fireball http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2394587&p=954735&hilit=fireball#p954735 Everyone I know who has gone to it really like it especially in the surf. They have replaced their...

Re: Modern Type KiteSurfboards

A couple of areas of confusion here. Just because a board does not have a nose does not make it a parallel rail board or modern planing hulls (MPH). Tomo MPH boards are a very radical change, and the squared off nose is more a by-product of other design features than a feature on its own. Here is a ...

Re: Surfboard preferred riding stance

Huh ? Is it like that in your region ? Here, it is almost 100% that ride switch - I might be able to think about 1 person only, out of ALL I know, that ride the "wrong way" (when ONLY done on their natural side, always) as it is also labelled here. Interesting. Here it is not like that. I think the...

Re: Surfboard preferred riding stance

Pretty similar 1) Yes. Unlike surfing there are plenty of kiters that can ride waves very well on either stance. I would say those who do not come from a strong history of surfing, probably have it easier. Do not have to overcome as much muscle memory 2) No. Only as a novelty. There may be a tiny fr...
