Re: Learning foiling behind a boat

So after about 9 sessions behind the Seadoo I was able to ride both directions on plane. Last week I got down to Pensacola beach where I was able to get 3 good morning sessions to use a kite. I think the boat training helped immensely. On the first day I was able to ride on plane to the left, and ri...

Re: Self Drift Launch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq3PB2G7b88 I am a fan of having my lines off the bar before I drift the kite. The guy in the video above is obviously in shallow water, but you could do this same thing from a boat anchored into the wind with your CL attached to the back of the boat. Just keep the ki...

Here is a better thread showing my videos and a really good description of how PD Gorby 67 launches from his boat. Several good methods evolving as each person tries it and adds their twist to it. Hope this helps.

Re: 5G EpicKites

Assuming this is about a 17ish, I think there would be a market for the same kite in a 15ish. Maybe it could be the Infinity light. That's what the Renegade 13 LTD is for :thumb: I have both but have occasionally wished I had my fictitious Infinity Light. Now that its going to a one strut design, I...

Re: 5G EpicKites

The downside to not having the size is that if you make a smaller version for light weight riders, you have a naming conundrum on your hands. Assuming this is about a 17ish, I think there would be a market for the same kite in a 15ish. Maybe it could be the Infinity light. Looking forward to trying ...

Re: Takoon goes direct (-50%)

The whole "family" thing kind of reminds me of the old Switch "teamrider" deal. Seems unnecessary to me. I would prefer to see more straightforward pricing without the gimmick, but if I were going to buy a kite from them I guess I would jump through that silly hoop to save the cash. Still glad to se...

Re: mmmm...Donuts!

Thanks for reminding me about this stephk. I reglued 3 valves with the Stormsure back in February and it worked great. Worked so well that I forgot all about it, and all the valves are still leak free. I still need to get some of those donuts for my repair kit. Looks much better than the valve traps...

Re: Kiteboarding practice from a boat

@kitesurfvoilier. Very cool that you are working on this. I hope you will be able to share some more video showing the specifics of how you launch and recovery. As with all kiteboarding, but especially with boat launching, the devil is in the details. Sharing what works and doesn't work will be real...

Re: Kiteboarding practice from a boat

PD Gorby 67 I really like your method. I have been showing people how I do it for a few years now and have been surprised I have not heard much back in the way of better ideas or improvements. Your method really provides a good alternative to the free drift I use. I'm sure that keeping the tension o...
