Re: Board Size Question

Every spec I've ever read says that I should ride a 134 to 140 twin tip, which is what I've been on from my first day on the water. Recently I've switched to a 129 and I can't say I'd ever ride anything bigger again. Length isn't everything! Seriously, the width, shape and rocker matter just ...

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

I finally got to try on the 2018 harness last weekend. It's very nice and much more refined from the 2016/2017 design. Seems the goal was to address some of the wear points people have noted in this thread. The Velcro is different. There is no underband stretchy thing. Both sides of the belt stretch...

Re: Slingshot 2017 SST vs 2018 SST?

I don't think there is anything significant. I had 2016s and just upgraded to 2018s. I don't notice any flight differences on my 10. I know between 2016 (first year) and 2017 they just reinforced a couple wear points that were noted. The only "new" thing I noticed it the marketing was this line; "Ex...

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

Interesting @jaystore, thanks for your take on this. :thumb: I have to say, I didn't know if he had a patent and it sounds like he doesn't. I have several friends who have used your Jaybars for several years and really like them. I saw those well before Dakine and other manufacturers started to brin...

Re: Wetsuit itches

I have that exact problem with two different shorty wetsuits. Yet, with my NP 4/3 and my ProMotion 5/3 it isn't a problem.
I'm not sure if it is chemicals used in production of cheaper suits, or just that my shorty lets in more debris from the water that irritates, but yeah... it's annoying as f*ck.

This is a 5 year old thread.

@MSG just pinged it for new insights. Probably be better to start a new thread so this old content doesn't get quoted, false rumors spread, etc....

Re: Wetsuit Dryer?!

I hang my wetsuit and point a cheap floor fan at it. A 4/3 dries pretty quickly. With a 5/3 steamer you may have to turn it inside out halfway through as the slick skin limits air flow. What is quick? Well, I can certainly hang it at night and have it dry in the morning. I don't pay attention too mu...

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

...Nothing against Coleman or RE, (I have ZERO ties to Mystic) but this review seems beneath them. Not necessary. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all........Imitation can breed innovation too and I think that's what Mystic has done. Make a few tweaks to the harnesses or offer a Te...

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

I'm happy with the pu tube strap. ...Not baggin' on anyone or RE, but I've said it before - The strap and closure system is what's holding back the RE from being the end all kite harness. I have a Majestic X and I like it, but the RE had a better lumber and softer padding. If RE had the beefier str...

Re: Drone for filming Kiting?

Thinking about going in on a DJI Mavic Pro. Yes I know there is a 50% chance it drops in the ocean and i never see it again. Anyone have any real life experiences using this drone for filming kiting? Obviously i would use it for other stuff too, but that doesnt concern me as much. I've had the Mavi...
