Re: Light weight beginner with huge foil compensation

It’s simple. Think about your (the riders) position on the board as leverage against the foil. the less you weigh, the more you need to stand forward when compared to someone heavier. More leverage. The longer lever, gives you the same loading over the foil a heavy guy gets standing farther back (le...

Re: Wingfoilboard mast track positions

Chinook is now offering 16” long tracks to shapers. I declined. Adds weight.

Re: Wingfoilboard mast track positions

But apparently no interest in sharing the position??? Takes only 10 seconds to measure with a ruler, from the back of the board :D 8) Peter Ok, you twisted my arm. 10” to center of track on my straight tail. 12” to center of tracks on my bevel tail. The boards volume distribution and tail design af...

Re: Wingfoilboard mast track positions

When you undersize the rear stab, you have to correct the balance of the foil, by moving your rear foot back. So that means, you move the foil forward in the tracks, to allow you to stand in the same spot on the board. Same applies to a shorter fuselage, because the leverage powering the front wing ...

Re: Gear for best low end

Too big a board is just as bad as too small a board. A straight tail board is actually better than a chopped or bevel tail in light wind. All big wings are not bad. Need to be very selective when selecting a big size. Some are fun, others to be avoided. Don’t rush out and buy a big wing. You need to...

Re: Pumping a foil - short versus long and stab size

My feeling and guess.. As we move toward thinner and faster foils, WE become the foils worst enemy, by grossly over pumping, and disturbing the delicate flow over these thin, fast, foils. So much so, the best in the world (Kane DeWilde and others like him) no longer rock the board, but just bounce e...

Re: Wing with Boom and center rib

The Epic kites wing and Cabrinha Manits wing both have boom handles that are pretty good. It makes me think this style boom-ish design has promise.

6m only. Figure the rest out after you wing a lot and determine your personal range, likes and dislikes in a wing.

Re: Cabrinha Mantis Wing 2021

I rode the 4m near the limit. Wind 25-30 mph. Handles felt nice. Wing was good. Didn’t pay attention to inflation valves. Didn’t pay close attention to details, sorry.
