Re: Winging in light wind is fun?

Right now, I am in El Medano, Tenerife for a couple of months The wind has not been strong everyday, but I have been surprised to see Wingers going out and enjoying themselves in 10 to 12 knots. An eye-opener for me. Interesting, wich wing sise do they use? 5 or 6 m . I did not see anything bigger

Re: El Medano - one of the best kitesurf locations in the world?

I spent 7 weeks in El Medano in January and February of 2020, just before Covid. El Medano is a charming and quiet village with great food and good accomodations. However, I would hesitate to say it is one of the best kitesurf spot in the world. The bay in front of the main beach is very choppy in m...

Re: Other spots in Tenerife?

If you go downwind from Cabezo (el.Medano) you end up in an extremely flat water spot, behind sea walls of some electrical company. Its not an official spot, but I've been there a couple of times, and nobody was complaining. You mean the spot that is called Playa del Vidrio, upwind from el médano, ...

Re: Switching from foil kite to high aspect LEI kite. Worth or not?

High aspect LEIs are: - lofty in jumps - soft in landings - boost next to the moon - have amazing upwind - don’t depower as much compared to all around wings - backstall in lighter winds more - generate shitload of power in loops - stay at the edge of the window (so not great for looping downwinder...

Re: Switching from foil kite to high aspect LEI kite. Worth or not?

I'm not on that Aluula hype train, especially considering the price of it, especially not knowing how it would react to freezing temperatures in winter. For what it's worth, I can tell you that local riders tested Aluula kites in Quebec last winter, and had no problems in cold temperatures. Also, I...
