The first 18 inches or so of the strut from the leading edge towards the trailing edge is not fixed directly to the canopy. I use the camrig from Kitehero just fine with all sizes of my Wainmans. A hint, you may want to leave the strut slightly soft while attaching the rig and then finish pumping it...
