Re: Rib Injury Sucks

I actually have a bruise type mark at the base of my rib cage. The shape of it looks like my hook or the end of my bar. It looks like something was crammed into my chest. I wasn't wearing an impact vest, but I did have a wet suit on. Kite pilot, did you have ur impact vest on when you hurt your ribs...

Re: Rib Injury Sucks

piccio,
Thanks for the reply. Yeah my second time too, sorry to hear about the comfort of the vest. I really need to not have this happen again. Glad it happened in winter, hope to be healed and going again by spring. I am moving around more, I walked the dogs around the neigborhood tonight.

Re: Rib Injury Sucks

Thanks all for the help and advice. I will probably not do the doctor thing since I have no insurance and am cheap, the doctors are all just practicing anyway. My breathing is fine and my pain is manageable. The poping is unnerving but thanks for the advice in that area. I look forward to the 5 or 6...

Rib Injury Sucks

I have read many of the old postings of rib injuries and didn't really find an answer to my question. I took a good spill from 15 or 20 feet in the air. I hit hard and immediately knew it was bad. I went out for a short time, but kept feeling a pop in my chest then pretty good pain so I shut it down...

Re: Learning to Kite

Get a really good lesson from a certified instructor just to get all the safety things under your belt. Then find a group of kiters you can hang out with and learn from in your area. The group you hang with will be invaluable to the learning process. Above all else, always ere to the side of safety.

Need a Big, not to ugly Helmet

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...I am currently wearing a 5 gallon bucket with the handle under my chin, the aerodynamics suck. I am wearing a xxxl modular motorcycle helmet. I bought an xl ace helmet for kiteboarding, it looked like a yamaka. Thanks in advance for any help here. Bob

Re: Sincere Thanks To Real Kiteboarding

Luckily you didn't use the term "time on the water" or you might have been sued!
