I'm a rookie... The trainer kite or something small like a 4m sle is definitely required, I couldn't imagine trying to have a lesson with a 9m or 12m kite without having the skills I have learned with my trainer kite. I would have blown out the bladder for sure within the first hour! I am not sure I...

Once things dry up, sit on the ground with legs bent. Dive the kite through the power window from 10 to 2 and as you do extend your right leg out and see if you can get the kite to pull you up to your feet.. You can do this both ways. Did you correct the misconfiguration of the de-power leash? If so, have you tried it? If you still have ice and snow around... did you try the trainer kite while on skis or skates? If you watch the average kiter, they're flying their kite not closer to the water than double wing span, giving up a BI...
