Re: Lot of impressive Big Air Wipeouts by Jamie Overbeek

The first three crashes are the most spectacular from a visual standpoint, all three are absolute explosions.

I hope you wear an impact vest and more importantly a cup to protect your balls.

Re: Bahia Salinas Costa Rica

I have been to Cabarete many times. As flyboy mentioned, it is light in the winter months. It does get decent waves, outside the waves, it is choppy swell. If you foil, you will get more days as there often light days in the 10 to 15 mph range. You should also look at Bonaire. Trades are on 24/7 the...

Re: which shape works better on these conditions

I have had better luck with directional mountain snowboards than with kite specific snowboards. I like the Libtech Skunkape and Skunkape 2.

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Kitexpert, Why rain on their parade? First of all, it is not true that a 15m Chrono would outperform a 19m LEI. A 15m Chrono has about the same pull as a 17m Zephyr. Don’t tell me that I don’t know because I own both kites. A 21m LEI is going to have similar power to an 18m foil, but it will loop be...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

. Plenty of those big very big foil kites have been made, for decades now, yet they remain hugely unpopular except within the niche of light wind hydrofoil racing... and maybe a few advanced alpine kiters...? Do you have any idea of how many big foil kites are sold every year? Your argument is that...

Re: January Maui gear choice

Kitefoil is your best bet. Gear is lighter and takes up less space. Kitefoil will give you sessions on the light days
You can drive to Kanaha or a lot of days you can launch in Kihei by the Maui Sunset.

Re: Ozone EXP Question

. 18m high aspect foil kite has so much wingspan it can't loop fast, free wingtip of the kite just have to travel so long distance. I've flied few times 18m Sonic3 and making loops needs full commitment and hard steering hand. 15m Chrono I loop all the time, it isn't fast by any means but when stee...

Re: Ozone EXP Question

Isn't the EXP an open cell Chrono with lighter cloth? You can over-sheet the Chrono v4 and make a pinwheel turn on the center of the kite. The turns become gutless but they are fast enough. Im a big fan of the longer bars. I use 62 cm on 11 and 15 chrono in part to speed turning even when the kite ...
