Re: Buying new Pivot from Naish.com and ship to Canada

You will have to pay PST+GST and a customs brokerage fee. The only company that charges reasonable brokerage fees is the USPS so either get it shipped with them or don't bother.

Re: Naish boxer 5m or 7m for foiling

The Boxer comes in 6m as well, there is a pretty big power difference between 5m and 7m.

Re: Shit is about to hit the fan

An average kiter like me doesn't benefit from 2024 kites compared to 2010 one on a 15 knots twintip day. Disagree, the kites have changed a lot, less struts and different materials, bridles that made them more efficient and user friendly. They also made much more specific kites depending on discipl...

Re: Technique for getting up on small sinker board with Foil Drive

Just no point, the reason to use a sinker is to get the weight down and more manoeuvrable, but now you want to add over 4kgs to the board, doesn’t make sense. While I agree that if the wind is too light to start you'll probably have more fun with just the foildrive and no wing. I disagree that ther...

Re: Technique for getting up on small sinker board with Foil Drive

You could try using a waist leash for your wing and just letting it float behind you, once you get a little bit of speed and get to your knees you can reel it in and grab it then try and stand up.

Re: Boards for light wind

My point is, I doubt we will see most/many wingers ever riding in this low wind - eventhough we have seen it is possible. I think a big piece of the puzzle is hand wing pumping technique, as I have a DW board but still struggle to get up on foil in 9 knots because I haven't really cracked the code ...

Re: Small wing foil for kite foil (sk8, armstrong, ketos...)

I'm looking for something that will fit perfectly an hybrid kite to go downwind, wave surfing, gliding like a wing but with the radicality of a kitefoil on flat water: acceleration, radical turn, tack, 360, high maneuverability, i ride strapless, no jump. One thing to be careful with for downwind w...

... 840 is a bit too big for what i'm looking for ;)
Axis foils are measured by span not area, the Spitfire 840 is 1006 sqcm, if that's too big it comes in 780 (902 sqcm) and 720 (815 sqcm).

If you want any smaller than that you have to go higher aspect like ART or ARTPRO.

Re: Small wing foil for kite foil (sk8, armstrong, ketos...)

My kite wing is the Axis PNG910B which is a crossover wing that I use for downwind wave surfing and love it. It's also a great wing for winging as well. Not sure how much you'd like it for flat water though. Sounds like the Axis Spitfire 840 might fit better for what you want.
