Levitaz Bionic

I’m currently riding freeride foils, can do flying gybe but only surface tacks. Looking at a quicker foil just to going places on the bay but will keep my freeride foil for playing in the chop. The Levitaz Bionic has been out for awhile and are available secondhand but I wonder if it may be too much...

Re: Cavitation

Ok, thanks, we will call it ventilation, air passing along the mast and onto the wing. Will try some crude fixes to start with, slap a vortex generator on either side, this will tap any air off and send it to the trailing edge and not down the mast. Failing that a wing fence, yep, crude but effectiv...

Re: Who rides the tallest mast?

I’m in two minds on this one, I have a 70 and 90 mast. I love the clearance the 90 gives me but the 70 is so manoeuvreable in and waves and chop even when depth isn’t an issue I tend to use it more.

Cavitation

I have two foils, all rigid carbon except for the rear stab. One is on a 70cm mast, the other a 90. Both front wings are similar, the 90 having a better finish but both sanded with 600. But I have cavitation issues with the 90, not the 70. The 70 has downward winglets, so tried it on the 90, still c...

Re: Pansh shipping time to the states

You should receive a tracking number when the kite is shipped. Special orders, eg colour or material take 2 weeks to build. Mine took 3 weeks after ordering to get to Oz

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

Just ordered a set of flat carbon MTB bars from China, stupidly cheap and North bar ends will fit straight on. Just have to work out the centre hole, 31mm bulge in the middle, enough for an insert, or add something externally. Will be plenty strong enough for kiting, a lot more load when used on a M...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

Easy enough to mount a low friction ring on the side of a carbon tube without drilling holes, a Kevlar tape/epoxy wrap would be quite adequate as there is bugger all load. Bar ends would probably come from an existing bar. Foam grip is easy to apply on a straight tube. The result would be a strong, ...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

So more in the interests of weight saving, rather than chicken loop bye bye, a carbon bar rather than the current heavy alloy offerings from the major manufacturers. Best used to do them but I guess cost and ease of manufacture has stopped the idea. The question is, does the bar need a hole in it fo...
