True, from 25 knots a 3 m2 is too big for the average weights...
Do you go to shorter lines for higher winds? For race foilers now, 11m kite is no problem in 25 knots, but on 10m-12m lines. Or do you prefer to stick with long lines to take the smallest kite possible?

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

Green hat had a few videos of the Waydoo recently. They said it has about the same run time, about the same weight as the lift, a little less refined, but less than half the price. I agree, looks fun, I'd like to try it, but not planning to buy one.

Re: Race foil strapless

Tk. Wow. You got connections? That seems like overkill for me. Ill be using my hyperlinks..... No need for connections anymore to get a Mikes Lab! There are dozens of used Bullet 3's available right now on the kiteracing2hand facebook group. There was a used one listed yesterday for $2000 which loo...

Re: Flysurfer is going to beat fishnets? (Release of VMG2)

I’ve been flying my new VMG2 18 and 13 is some very average conditions here in Perth over the last few weeks and I can say I love the performance. Thanks for the review! Can you self land the kite by backstalling? The VMG2 manual says you can't, because it can damage the kite. I asked flysurfer dir...

Re: Off Topic - America's Cup Sailing - Foiled Monohulls

Is the Hauraki Gulf usually this calm? I read they went with monohulls to better handle the seas of the Hauraki Gulf, but every video I've seen has been fairly flat water.

Re: Marginal wind tacking and big kite handling

It seems like the good riders don't turn upwind at all until the kite is at least at 12 o'clock, they keep riding at full speed in the direction of the old tack while the kite is rising. Then they make a relatively sharp turn with foot switch while riding the foil high followed by pumping the foil....

Re: foot switching - all the video's are photo shopped, right? advice please

I felt like those flat, thin boards (double agent and the LF fish) make it hard to do transitions on the water. When I first tried them, I was doing surface transitions on my board (large volume, rocker in the nose) no problem, but couldn't do them at all on those boards. There seemed to be very lit...

Re: 2020 Formula Kite European Championships in Poland

Really exciting! First race on the 2024 Olympic equipment. I thought the flysurfer kite was going to be untouchable, but I guess not! At least not in the windier conditions of day 3 (races F1-F4). Day 1 and 2 were lighter conditions, but it looked like the top ozone/chubanga and flysurfer/levitaz ri...

Re: America's Cup: Kite vs two AC75's

I have a feeling if these sc75s get taken out in 20 to 30 knot wind and pressed to their limits they will just explode in a giant cloud of carbon fiber dust. Looks like there was some disagreement over what the upper limit wind speed would be, but they decided on 23 knots. 6.5 knots for the low end...

Re: America's Cup: Kite vs two AC75's

These things are ridiculously fast in light wind. It's possible a kite foil will beat them in 20 knots merely because the ac75 will forfeit if the wind is just a little bit too strong. Why do you think the AC75 would have more of an advantage in light wind? I thought it would be the other way aroun...
