Re: Recoating kite fabric

Its based on chemical nanotechnology......so it must be good. That statement is enough to put me off. Why do manufacturers feel the need to add this crap to their marketing. Just makes me suspicious that I am being taken for a ride

Re: Recoating kite fabric

Reviving this thread. Foilholio can you update us on how the shoe goo/toluene coating has held up over time? Also has anyone any experience with CRC aqua armour which seems to be some sort of naphtha petroleum waterproofing spray. It looks easy to apply but may be only a waterproofing rather than a ...

How to tune leading edge collapse

Advice needed. I recently reset my bridles to factory spec. B line had shrunk about 1cm, C line about 3cm and z line presumably more. When I first flew it the leading edge inverted as soon as the wind speed across the kite increased eg at speed and when rounding up. Z line was obviously too long as ...

Re: Cloud vs Reo.

Horses for courses as they are quite different kites. Rode a mates cloud briefly so maybe not enough to get it dialed but it didnt make me jizz. Personally I think Reos are the best freeride foiling kite out there, so its all about personal preference. The 10 is as big as I ever need and I've had it...

Re: World kite championships 2018

I’m with mikesids on this. The other kiwis on this site have heard enough of you banging on about your opinions of world kite conspiracies. You have voiced your opinion enough, we know it and you are entitled to it but please mate give it a rest. I want some positive stoke and frankly this regatta h...

Re: Line length, gybing and down-looping

Foiling is such a technical sport, you really appreciate just how skilled those top riders are when you try to emulate them. There's guys gybing at full speed 30 knots within a couple of metres of each other in some of the races these days. Respect.

Re: Line length, gybing and down-looping

Ok thanks guys, more practice needed .seems it takes so much longer to learn new stuff as I get older. Dave the La Ventana video is interesting in that at about 49 seconds there are 2 Kiter’s gybing together and the second one almost does a tip crash despite the majority of the gybe looking sweet. T...

Line length, gybing and down-looping

Some advice please from those of you racing or high-performance freeriding with racefoil kites. Im finally starting to get my foiling gybes sorted but find especially with my 15m R1 (but also my 11 sometimes) that I have a habit of crashing the bottom tip of the kite in the water on the downloop (an...
