Re: Mako wide

I been riding this board this winter in the storms, 15 to 25 plus conditions. When the winds reach the upper 20's the board starts to feel too big, normally because the kite is too much. you have to drop down a kite size and/or rig for the gusts. (10m to 6m at 25/30kts for me) Myerscough has used th...

Re: What kites are the heavy guys using, 200 - 240 Lbs Riders,

I finally had a chance to pair the 14m Rise up with the mako 150x40 in steady lite conditions, building slowly to medium conditions. I think the skywalker 135p has a slight edge over the mako for bottom end, but not by much. Its hard to beat wide and flat for that very bottom end...unless you are ri...

Re: What kites are the heavy guys using, 200 - 240 Lbs Riders,

Maybe 10 or 12 knots here, but making very good speed on a skywalker 135p. I have the Skywalker 135x48 cm as well. It makes my 210 lbs plane early, but contrary to other riders it doesn't give me better upwind ability compared to a smaller board. I wonder what I am doing wrong? I tried to put bigge...

Re: What kites are the heavy guys using, 200 - 240 Lbs Riders,

I weigh about 210, and used to use an 05' 20m Yarga as my lite wind kite. Then I got my hands on a 14m 07' Rise last spring and haven't used that 20m since. Whats nice about the Rise is that it can go up into 20 plus knots no problem, so taking it out in a lite southerly (storm winds) is not a probl...
