Re: New inflatable Kite, 100% hydrofoil dedicated: Notus Air

Can Zeeko please elaborate on the handling characteristics at the 20-25 knots as suggested ? At this speed , here in Perth we are usually in the domain of racers riding the Sonic / R1/ Diablo. What differences can we expect of the Notus in comparison to the high AR foil kites we currently ride ? I m...

Re: New inflatable Kite, 100% hydrofoil dedicated: Notus Air

Interesting. I'm riding Flysurfer both Speed 4 Lotus and Sonics, plus bought my first Cloud (c2 17). I love the differences between them, and am interested to see what Zeeko have to offer. For me, hydrofoiling has opened up features in my existing quiver previously unexplored and I'm not sure what h...

Re: What makes a good light wind free ride kite

Following from CG's post - the current crop of foil kites are pretty exceptional. If you have some previous experience, Flysurfer Sonics are unreal - heaps of power and performance. If you want something a little easier, the Speed 4 Lotus is a great LW kite. In my opinion the 15m in either Sonic or ...

Re: Can you loop yourself upwind strapped ?

Hi PF. I find that if I sit in the water strapped to the board, and loop the kite it simply wants to pull me directly downwind. Could be technique but my body acts like an anchor and won't allow me to gain much forward momentum (and hence gain ground upwind) without coming out of the water. Which of...

Re: How land Sonic FR smooth, slow and with precision?

My technique is pretty simple. Make sure you are at full power on the trimmer - ie full open. If I am flying my 15 thru 21m then I sit down and gently increase tension on the rear lines until the kite starts to reverse down. You need to modulate the pressure to keep the kite moving but not too fast....

Re: How land Sonic FR smooth, slow and with precision?

I agree with KristianE86 - you need to reverse it down more slowly. This way it generates less power. A landing strap seems to be popular although I've not used one myself. I always stall mine from 12 o clock, but if you have enough room you can stall them from 3 or 9 o'clock as well. In stronger wi...

Re: How to slow down on hydrofoil?

Great question ! I was riding the Levitaz Aspect recently and had a funny moment. Usually, on my LF Fish putting the kite at 12 results in a nice a gradual slowdown. I had the GPS on at this occasion on the Levitaz and at about 25 knots downwind I lost my nerve and did the same - put the 8m foil I w...

Re: Foilboards in waves

I'm really into this concept. I started on the LF Foil Fish and am now riding the MAgma Barracuda which foils really early and is super stable. I've started to catch some unbroken swells at my local beach - nothing like the Laird Hamilton videos - but am having lots of fun. I'm flying foil kites gen...

Re: Introducing: Levitaz Kitefoils

I spent 3 days riding the Aspect 3.0 with Flysurfer in Montenegro last week. I was pretty blown away by the Levitaz - super easy to ride and so little drag. I was riding riding toeside around 18-20 knots with complete ease.... It really surprised me. I also watched complete foiling noobs manage to g...
