Re: best redline 2013 frontline break

I would cut both front lines say 1 meter above the trim and replace that missing meter with 2.5 or 3 mm dyneema. Easy and cost effective fix. You might even do the same on rear lines which I suspect worn out as well...

Re: Overall Bridal Stretching?

Not sure what the blue bridals are doing, but I suspect they are stretching, unlike the Plines as you mentioned that shrink. Next time Im bored I will get the old ones out and compare the lengths. I am running stainless rings on all my REV's Plines as well. Must be a reason why no one uses the blue...

Re: Overall Bridal Stretching?

Just replaced my entire bridle on an old REV and I have to say it flys like a new kite...the performance is rather astounding. I have been replacing Plines on all the REVs every so often, but had no idea the blue bridle lines stretch. Can anyone talk about their experiences with the blue bridles an...

Re: Replacing Slingshot Bar center line?

I do use the SS 2009 chicken loop, not the other parts of the SS bar. By center line I understand you are talking about the depower rope. I tested many different types & diameters, I am now using 6mm dyneema. It might not work properly with the original setup though, because standard 12 braid dyneem...

Re: Kai Lenny's $1,500 Kite Board vs Oracle Team USA $15mio

Kites can also go 3x wind speed in the right conditions Sorry for being skeptical, is there a video or some web site talking about that ? ac72 one of the fastest sailboats ever made, I would put my money on it against hydroptere. I am no expert but to me you are comparing a race board to a speed bo...

Re: How do you remove a pad from a surfboard ?

Hi, I could put my hands on some white gas this morning and I do confirm it does the job pretty well ! Here is hte procedure I would advise: step 1: remove the pad using a long flexible knife (like the ones we use for ham). Don't waist your time trying to remove all the pad's foam, just be careful n...

Re: Kai Lenny's $1,500 Kite Board vs Oracle Team USA $15mio

As someone stated above this is probably just a redbull commercial, not really a race, and we are not really the target audience. But still it leads to some interesting questions about speed. "straight down wind" ? humm.. apparent wind wise the AC72 is close reach to clause hauled, true wind can no...

Re: How do you remove a pad from a surfboard ?

Thank you guys for your answers ! For those who might be interested, wikipedia says the generic name for coleman camp fuel is "white gas". This is a product we can find anywhere in the world, called "Essence F" in France for example, and which is indeed recommended for that kind of task. Yes, there ...

How do you remove a pad from a surfboard ?

Hi, I have tried with a razor blade but this is going to take hours and there is plenty of glue remaining on the deck. I read some are doing it with a hairdryer but some say it's bad for the board ... So do you know of a quick & safe way to do that ?

thanks !

Re: Kai Lenny's $1,500 Kite Board vs Oracle Team USA $15mio

I might be missing something but it looks like Kai is using a 900USD surfboard ... How do you explain such a choice ? Maybe Naish doesn't do race boards ? or foil ? That last one would have been more interesting. To me it doesn't really give a good image of kitesurfing. I only see one more very impr...
