Spending 30 min with a new product on land isn't far fetched. Go down to the flag (Kailua) and you have enough space. I would know about 3 to 4 spots on every island where's enough room.

Re: New kites and liability insurance.

No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible. - Voltaire Common sense is forcing me to check my kite products (new AND used) of accuracy and proper manufacturing. This is especially true for bars, lines and safety features. The labels (line length, kite material ...) don't mean anything to m...

Re: Question for solo kiters - how do you launch your kite?

Land your kite next to a light pole/power pole. Walk around and grab it. :D

Re: USA in April?

Thanks for the replies guys. How do South Padre Island and Corpus Christi compare windwise and non kiting activities wise? We have been in SPI in October. Just for kiteboarding and that's all what you can do here. SPI is just a five mile road with hotel, motels, restaurants and cheap souvenir shops...

Re: Kaa Point shark bite - link

If you want to move back to the bottom of the food chain, it is your choice. Disrupting nature by saving 100 million predators with no other natural enemy is the dumbest idea. If those 100 million(I really doubt it)sharks are allowed to live, how many monk seals and kiters will need to be killed to...

Re: Potential safety issue with Epic Renegade kites

James, this forum has multiple threads in regards to EPIC kites. Nearly all of them are ending up in flames. Just reading through this thread halfway through we have dog poop pictures and classic name calling again. On the opposite "Strutless kite in development on Maui" has a whole different tone. ...

Re: micro leash

x2 on CORE bar and micro leash.

I am flying a 13 and 15 riot with the new bar and leash - brilliant system, clear design. Did a couple of practice releases on the beach to train my 'muscle memory'

Just a good system, love it.

Re: Potential safety issue with Epic Renegade kites

Thinking out loud what probably a lot of us have on our minds: This forum has quite a few of these EPIC threads. Most of them end up the same emotional way. I would have a very hard time showing up with this brand associated with mindset shown here. I hope the manufacturer won't be too upset if I to...

Re: Lofting/Deadly Dragging

From my perspective the most vulnerable (and dangerous) kiter is the one who is kiting between one and two years. You are good enough for the basics, confident enough to step out of the box, but you lack experience for these 'oh-shit' moments. Well, the only way to gain experience is from bad decisi...

Re: Plastic in the Ocean

In Germany, we have to pay a 0,25 EUR deposit for each plastic or metallic beverage container we buy. No matter what size / volume. Sometimes this deposit is way over 100 % of the content´s value. Result: Not a single plastic bottle is thrown into our environment any more. Or if this is done, "bott...
