Re: Exactly what they don't need there.

I've been at Ka'a about two weeks ago. Wind was sketchy and the tree lines are definitely not your friend. Knowing the situation I didn't bother to unroll my kite rather just sit down to get a feel for the vibe. Local news are cooking this stew pretty hot. According to Maui News the guy (our known i...

Re: Best Bar Elbow Break

The same happened to me too last year. Was cutting my thumb pretty bad while it snapped. Kite decided to loop, so I got to shore in no time

Re: Stoke Thread :)

I think it was Tuesday - purrfect wind, gear was rigged and trimmed just right, nice rolly waves - everything just in tune, when I had go out a bit further for my next set and suddenly a few dolphins started playing with me. Softly gliding and breathing next to my board I almost could have touched t...

Re: Tips for 180s on a surfboard?

I am doing these turns with my regular surfboard quite often, but it's a bit trickier with a kite-sb. I think three factors playing a role, weight distribution, rocker and fin box. I think it's simple yet a bit complex to explain. before we get started, let's define: a nose is nose, tail is still th...

Re: The Surf kite from Epic Kites

I said it was the best looking Epic kite. The best looking kite is obviously the North Vegas :o Well i just saw the 2014 Vegas... personally i think its horrible. It looks like a Gaastra Sailboat sail or something like that. Maybe better in other colours then i saw. In the end liking graphics is a ...

Re: Q-power Line Extensions - Connecting and Knots

Can you elaborate on the con guys. The stiffness when setting up? What the lines are hard to unroll from your bar? And I assume the response on big kites gives you a quicker turning kite. ?? Not at all. They unroll from your bar differently. IMHO easier, they don't tangle so easy as traditional lin...

Re: Q-power Line Extensions - Connecting and Knots

Actually I had Q lines as flying lines while my back lines were still traditional for a couple of weeks. The differences have been an instant pull for air time while the back lines still were a bit sponge'ier in response. I am not a fan of 'mixed' line types either. I just did it as an interim solut...

Re: Video: Kiteboarding Jamaica

sorry guys, but it's boring for me. A kite video I've seen 1000 times: handle passes, back rolls and jumps ... and a rasta who tells me I am in Jamaica now! Maybe it's just me, but this kind of video is stone boring. I hit the little red X not even half way thru. Tell a story, surprise me as a viewe...
