yes, practice makes perfect!
however, as with many things age playes a huge role...
I practice 10x more than my Son and he is WAY ahead of me, in straples skills.

hello, I have the Duke V1 and FW Vader. Last year I had ACL knee surgery, so Im still sensitive to choppy rides. The Duke is amazing board as far as comfort go in choppy wind waves up to 3 ft (aprox.) its my first choice. However, when you have bigger waves or smooth conditions the FW board is hard ...

my V1 Diablo's tip folds in at launch some times. I do what Kami said, pull steering lines hard from side to side a few times and its good to go...

you can adopt your stance in order not to get "elephant leg" however it may not feel natural for you and even so
a hard wipe out will fill itt up again, most likely in a way described by irejohn...

Same problem here.
I tried velcro strap, it helped but not perfect.
Started foiling, problem solved...

I think that I hit small fish in our lake often in a session, few times big enough to throw me of my board. Noticed that if I keep on the same line on each tack the hits get less... :-(

it might have been a combination of things... I share Kamikuza's opinion plus he had the bad fortune with the gust which just swept through. (you can see the dust kicking up when he comes to a stop...) my home spot is onshore wind with rocks an trees combined with power line etc. so we live by the g...
