Re: Anyone Running an Orange LF Mast on a Slingshot Board?

go to a local hardware store such as aces, get m8 stainless steel pan head, perhaps with some fender washers also....cant help you on the length

in the picture its using flat screws on a non countersunk hole,...not ideal, but it'll work, some strong jumps will start to destroy something....

upwind foil backpack

anyone figure out how to do an upwinder with a backpack with say a 24 inch mast, break it down and surf the same board downwind? or perhaps some way of locking up your foil upwind?

Re: Surfing with a Kite Hydrofoil

Riding shorter masts and larger sup foil type wings for kite wave foiling is a lot of fun as Gunnar says.Quite a few of our local crew have been doing this for quite some time,Personally think that's the future of wave kite foiling it's a blast! I use a pelican surffoil which is a great sup foil IM...

Re: Slingshot Widowmaker problem

Carbon boards don't like kiteloops, I've broken 2 of them, went back to fiberglass

Re: Core Section 12m - low end any good?

I had an 11m section, best surf kite I've had, really fun when powered and insane drift, horrible low end, replaced it with a 12m solo, mediocre surf kite, but great low end

Primary goal was foiling thou so solo 9m = 11m section in 10-15 knots

Re: Light LEI kites c",)

I have a flite, flite hates short lines, it needs at least 24m

On top of that it's not a comparable to an initial grunty kite like say a solo, flite is more about apparent wind and upwind angles in light winds.

Re: Light LEI kites c",)

solo v3 is an animal, super grunty, more so than the v2, I can almost get away with the 9m as my biggest kite down to about 10 knots, it makes perpetual apparent wind, its power is only limited by your foils speed

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

slingshot converter and spitfire strapless here, thats bliss for me, the longer board gives me room for leverage to pump hard

I used a 42" dwarfcraft before and couldn't pump at all, back leg wasn't far back enough
