Re: Death Loop Cherry Popped - Advice Needed

pretty much nothing you can do when it loops. If you have an "O shit" handle on a steering line, this could have solved the problem. If you want an O shit handle you can add them, get 4 steel O-Rings, near the floats, lark's head one steel ring to the end of the line that goes to the bar, feed thro...

Re: Future bullet proof kite?

Forget about stiff rigid welding tube leading edge, with this new lightweight bullet proof genetically engineered (synthetic) spider silk. Abrasions, cuts and tears are things in the pass, kite will last longer than human life span, lines will last forever, too.Smaller rigid leading edge diameter tube g...

Re: self landing

The best technique is to use your quick release. Sometimes I'll use one of the techniques described above, crashing it, tugging the front line, yes I'm as lazy as everyone else, I don't want to have to wind up my flag line if I don't have to, but those techniques are simply not reliable, no matter h...

Re: Kitesurfing, a micky mouse sport if ever I saw one ...

I think this clip is pretty pro-kiting. First of all hot lady on a kite, that's nice, then you got the sun the waves, looks like she is doing well, next, you have this dim witted rescue (old) police guy telling everyone it is mickey mouse, pretty sure that means for young kids that the sport is in f...

Re: My elbows hurt like hell :(

I get a very annoying pain in my elbows when I kitesurf. The pain is not in the muscles, but inside the joints. I know that I'm not alone with this problem, question is what you can do to make it better? Any tips? Stop kiting is not an option =P Quit riding two handed entirely and only ride one han...

Re: Double-arm backstroke: how to easily retrieve your board

A tip for all of you who haven't thought or heard of this: You can very easily swim upwind to your board by placing the kite at 12 and using the double-backstroke swim. All of my kites (foil, SLE, Cs) behave perfectly well for this in any strength of wind. I never swim for my board. Let me tell you...

Poacher, I think I must be the first to explain this to you. You're not supposed to go snow kiting naked. That is all, have fun :-)

Re: Different shapes advantages and disadvantages

I am curious about this. I have never built a board, but these upstate NY winters do get long, and I am toying with the idea of giving it a shot. I have worked on yachts for years and toured many boat building plants and am comfortable with the process. But I don't know where to start with shaping....
