"We're taking kiting in a direction, going huge, in the future, gonna be up there. Coming in super hot with the risk factor of landing, that's what me and a few guys are aiming for the powerful stuff, like Rueben, trying to push the massive stuff, kiteloops and real power the wow factor without taki...

### Re: any math/science people?

The use of the word "power" in the kite jargon is misleading. Adequate words include strength, lift, force, pull. Power is force times velocity of the . . . When we say "power" (P) in kiteboarding it is not a technical term, because the technical term for power P=Fv, F=.5kv^2, where "force" (F) is ...

### Re: any math/science people?

Just really curious if wind power is a linear function or an exponential function. In other words, is the change in power from 20-25 mph of wind(+ 5 change) more significant than a change in power from 15-20 mph (also a +5 change). It seems exponential to me. any info? wind strength is proportional...

### Re: North ripping off Ozone's designs....shame on you North

Yes, designers do test and check-out other brands' kites. In this case, they suspected that a 17-meter kite flew more like an 18, and in this particular photo they were laying a 17 Dyno proto on top of the other kite to compare surface area. Well Dan don't leave us in suspense was the ozone closer ...

Sports have endorsements, that's how it works. Tiger woods, lebron james, dale earnhardt jr, peyton manning, david beckham. Even ping pong and badmitten have endorsements.

### Re: Self launching/landing with a pet ground anchor

I thought most people who launch this way attach their CL to the anchor so if the kite were to take off it would be flying with min power... ie bar all the way out... not full power. Most SLE's are well depowered when the bar is all the way out... unless I'm miss understanding something. If your pl...

### Re: Self launching/landing with a pet ground anchor

The stronger your anchor is, sure the less times it will fail, but when it does, you are going to have a much more powerful projectile. A kite at full power will pull about 1,000 pounds. If it has a foot of leverage, that's 1,000 foot pounds of torque, 4 times more than a Ford F-150 truck at 4,000 r...

### Re: Thermal underwear (ski stuff) under steamer wetsuit

Does wearing regular thermal poly. long underwear (helly hanson ski stuff) under you steamer wetsuit keep you warmer? Or do you have to get the thermal underwear made for water? . Yes. The reason that stuff made specifically to fit under your wetsuit is nice is that it has little loops for your fee...

### Re: Ozone stopper ball question

is it really bad to not use a stopper ball? I just replaced my lines and just left the stopper out. You don't need a stopper ball. There's a running argument about the pros and cons of a stopper ball on the flag out line, we don't need to revisit it, suffice to say, either way is fine, your choice.
