Re: With 1 Death already, Design for a safty device is neede

What about a control system with a really outrageous bar throw and no stopper, like a 6 foot bar throw, that way if you let go of the bar the kite goes to 100% depower. Maybe even a bungee pulling the bar out to ensure this occurs when the bar is let go...

Re: Corpus Christi Kiteboarding??

Do you have any other wind-sports experience? If you sail and windsurf already all you really need is one session to learn the kite and yo're good. I came to kiting from an extremely watersports intensive background and i was riding in an afternoon. If you have no such experience you will need exten...

Re: With 1 Death already, Design for a safty device is neede

agreed, better teacher, more qualified student. My Dad is 58 and wants to learn how to kite. I've refered him to an IKO certified instructor who'se work I respect and I've put him on a fitness regimen which includes strength conditioning, balance training, and cardio and there's marks he has to meet...

Re: Cheap, durable raceboard.

The sector is probably a better board for fleetbuilding ambitions, however, this was a relatively affordable way to hedge my bets and double my kiteable days.

Beverage holder for a harness.

Has anybody come up with a decent way to bring a cold beverage with them out on the water? Oftentimes on a long downwinder I've wanted to take a break or even mow the grass a little bit while enjoying a cold one, but i'm certainly not going to go through the pain of landing my kite and walking all t...

Re: Cheap, durable raceboard.

I wanted a light wind kite anyways and anyway you shake it $1750 is a GREAT price for a 16M kite, with bar and lines, AND a race board. If the board is worth $650 that puts the COMPLETE 2011 Cabrinha Crossbow at $1100, bar and lines included. Thats cheap as a complete 16M Nirto with bar and lines fr...

Re: Cheap, durable raceboard.

Just bought the cabrinha package. It's the best price for the 16M switchblade complete on the web and it comes with a FREE 183 raceboard.

If only I lived in miami where i'd have friends to race against.

Thanks Adventure Sports Miami

Re: Corecell or Divinycell?

I wouldn't bother with the poured rails with divinicell. Not that you won't get dings, it's just the dings don't matter because the core doesn't absorb water at all. I've used divinicell parts where the glass had been completely worn off(sand had worn the fin tip) and I kept using it for YEARS with ...
