Re: Kiteboarder Stuck By Lightning

I've been wondering about this for a while as it seems to me based on my GCSE physics that a kite hoisted 30m into the air over a surface where there are no other objects anything like that height around (ie the sea) is a pretty good target for lightning but I've never heard of any kitesurfer being ...

Re: Riding in offshore winds

Be mentally prepared to ditch your gear if you have to. Kitegear can be replaced. Agreed! Goes on quite a bit here in Tarifa as when the Levante blows we get a real nice little wave and perfect flat section in front of town. Of course horror stories abound and there are regularly guys with long wal...

Re: Wave and kiterules VS Windsurfrules

I find that most people either don't know or in the heat of the moment don't remember (or have time to think about) right of way rules so I tend to always fall back on rule no 1 in Toby's post here:

Re: Tow-Side question on "Strapped" surfboard ?

What happens when Ya lean forward "AND" bend your knees ? Seams like that would edge the board more and force the tows into the deck ?? Remember "My" ankles are made of SS. The logic is that by leaning forward (which forces you to bend your knees) you do drive the toe side edge in harder, but that ...

Re: Tow-Side question on "Strapped" surfboard ?

Billie, something that really helped me was was a mate told me to lean forward much further than actually felt comfortable (at the time..now it feels natural) I think a lot of people have a tendency to stand up quite straight when going toe side, try leaning really far forward and trailing your back...

Re: 2012 Switchblade or OR Razor

Can't comment on the razor, but I've tried a few Switchblades, I've always found them super stable with awesome hang time...but a little slow, one of the best if you want to pull big air though

Re: Tow-Side question on "Strapped" surfboard ?

Billie,

when you say you can't go toe side, what exactly happens, do you lose all speed and stall, go over the front of the board or just struggle to maintain the correct course?
