best upwind board

Time for a new twintip. I could use some suggestions for a high performance wakestyle plank in the 130x40 range. the heelside edge on my Gaastra Vision is rounded off from riding onto the beach and I believe this is starting to affect the upwind performance of this board as I find myself further dow...

Re: Yarga??? Please Post!

I recently purchased a 9 meter 08 and don't care for it. needs a LOT of wind and you must fully depower when unhooked or it flies backward even with a tight fifth line. I extended the back pigtails 4 inches, which helps somewhat, but I thought I was getting a 9 not a 7. this is my 6th year on ckites...

Re: Yarga 08

I will try lengthening the back pigtails, and hope for more wind, but I thought I was buying a 9 meter not a 7.
I'm 125 pounds not KG.

Yarga 08

took mine out twice so far, 9meter, once underpowered just to fly it and once powered, 22-25kts I'm 125#. This kite backstalls bad when unhooked! you must fully pull in the depower strap or it will fall, also it requires more wind than a 9 should, its more like a 7/8. it is really quick in loops and...

Re: C vs SLE kiteloops

Thanks everyone for their input. I've been leaning toward the thrusters as my friend just got the 12 which seems pretty quick. The fuels are so @#$! expensive! I wish Slingshot would bring back the Octane, mine are falling apart. I'd love to try out a smaller thruster before I decide what to get. th...

C vs SLE kiteloops

dedicated C guy considering the switch. my favorite moves involve kiteloops, I was wondering how good the hybrids are in turning speed during loops. my octanes and yargas are fast and the pull is a rush, I don't want to lose this by going with a waroo/hp..etc. should I just get new fuels? thanks. Re: Mystic handlepass / bowkite leash question

I had my slingshot leash break resulting in a totaled kite, my beloved 10 meter octane, RIP.
I was clipped in suicide on a c kite, but it still shouldn't have broke.
now I use a best leash with no problems so far.

Sunburned!

I've been getting sunburned bad on my lips recently despite using spf 30 chapstick. This only used to happen when on vacation in the tropics, but now it's happening here in the northeast US. I will use some type of zinc oxide after this most recent burn heals, but not sure which brand to use. obvios...
