Re: IKA new course racing equipment for 2013

Pertaining to an earlier comment, the new weight limit for the boards is 5.5 kgs not 5kgs. This will make it easier for other manufacturers to compete and also help make the boards a bit stronger. But you never know how that goes with overseas production.

Re: Los Barilles Lord of the Wind

Hi Ronnie, The slalom in Los Barilles the last two years has been won by a twintip. I even think Evan who won this year was in Bindings. The course in Los Barilles is very short between buoys and very choppy water. That is why a twintip can compete there. The course lost two outside marks which espe...

Re: riding off the wind...

In General, it is faster to be in the outside straps downwind. This is especially true in light winds or going a little closer to the wind while reaching downwind. When it gets too bumpy to stop falling in or it is super overpowered downwind, then the Pros switch to the middle or chicken strap(s) to...

Re: riding off the wind...

I am riding the board in 4 strap mode, so am wondering if I should fit the 5th strap so that I can get my weight in over the middle/rear fin... If you are having problems going off the wind, start by using the Middle or Chicken strap, especially if it is windy or bumpy or you are new to raceboardin...

Nice Toby,
I hope the winds blow good there for you guys so you can show off some old school high jumps! Spectators always love the high jumps which in turn leads to the sponsors being very happy!

Re: Speed Kiting in Hawaii!

Damo and Rob Douglas are going fast at Marthas Vineyard this weekend. I talked to them yesterday and Damien hit 50.96 (personal best) and Rob hit 52 something as top speeds. Rob was hitting 44 for 20 second runs. They are both getting ready for next months Kitesailing Speed Worlds in France.

Re: Speed Kiting in Hawaii!

With that amount of chop ( especially in your run Alex), that is very fast! Maybe you need a flat bottom boat to flatten the water for you? :D I think the WSSRC records are on a set course with their representatives overseeing the record ( at least that was the way they were done). Dont know if the...
