Re: Kitesurfing brands & people...new vs old kitesurfboards!

I think north is on to something with the "tt" tuff technology line of boards. I've been punishing my nugget tt for a few months now,and it still looks brand new. I wish they would have a "tt" copy of all their boards. I never tried a North board to be honest. I like their shapes but i find them a ...

Re: Kitesurfing brands & people...new vs old kitesurfboards!

It seems that no one from any company/brand has seem to reply with a logical explanation of what are they really doing with quality control!?

We could start adding pictures of the broken boards and in which occasion!

Re: Kitesurfing brands & people...new vs old kitesurfboards!

I'm a hobby builder. Riding strapless, 80 kgs. Do small jumps only. Be interesting if a pro builder like Amundson chimed in. Ive ridden slingshot celeritas for 5 years. Fin boxes getting loose now, with some water ingress. No heel dents. Ran over a TT that was floating around, at full speed 4 years...

Re: Kitesurfing brands & people...new vs old kitesurfboards!

I see two crowds. Those coming from surfing have different experience and expectations regarding what a board should weight, ride like and withstand compared to those coming from kiting where nearly indestructible TT's can handle very heavy heels. Surfboards heel dent with normal use. They ding eas...

Re: Kitesurfing brands & people...new vs old kitesurfboards!

They don't make me as heavy and stiff as they used to either. I've had so many boards and only one of the old ones had any real magic that still stands up to my current quiver. Firewire, hydroflex, these are improvements with current and Classic shapes to choose from. There are a few casualties lik...

Re: Kitesurfing brands & people...new vs old kitesurfboards!

But if we cannot jump hard why are they showing us videos with crazy hot landing tricks...they are not 100% honest aren't they?! Because they want to sell units ! Plus development boards(if they even bother) are probably customs to dial in the shape and therefore maybe stronger, the team riders are...

Re: Kitesurfing brands & people...new vs old kitesurfboards!

Agreed - I stopped using Production boards a good while back for normal use, as they snap like biscuits. I only use production s/b's and use them very carefully/v limited jumping, etc But if we cannot jump hard why are they showing us videos with crazy hot landing tricks...they are not 100% honest ...

Re: Kitesurfing brands & people...new vs old kitesurfboards!

Educated guess but production costs are closer to 100. You start using exotic materials and construction techniques and your cost goes up 200 to 400. Unfortunately the mark up model for boards would put them in the 2000 to 4000 range. Economics of greed, the world is slowly being consumed by it. Yo...

You mean 10 and 5 sessions right? Because 10 and 5 seasons would be pretty damn good :D
:) correct sessions not seasons...then it would be year 2025!
