Re: What is the biggest risk self launching?

This video shows how it can go wrong. Yes, there are plenty of really bad decisions made that lead to this. See if you can count them all. But it shows when it goes bad it can happen real quick.

Try central California.
Yes, that whole side of the map is mostly all rights. Oregon Coast, Northern and Central California, and Baja. There is a whole list of relatively famous breaks that I am suprised the OP is not familiar with.

Re: Padre Island/Corpus Christi kiteboarding later this month...where to stay

Checking with United and American (their baggage policies even list kite boards) if they are less than 158cm or 62" then they go as regular baggage: Unfortunately that is not what it says or means. If you read the whole policy It says if the bag length+width+height is less that 62 inches is goes as...

Re: obx late noverber?

Tough call, things this time of year can be very variable since it is front dependent. Pretty certain to have wind, but this time of year you could get all types of weather. From upper 40s to low 80s for temps. Wind could be light and warm out of the SW or blowing 50 from the NE and pouring rain. Mo...

Re: fireball update anyone?

That means a total of 5 or more bars. Yes, I'm definitely confused
OK I am confused that you are confused. Most people I know have at least three bars, but know plenty of folks with 4 or 5. So what is so confusing about having 5 bars?

Re: What would you do if crashed in big surf?

@NHKitesurfer, The question is a little bit loaded since depending on where you ride the perspective may be very different. 90% of my kiting is side-on, small kites, sand bar breaks, shoulder to a little overhead, short period swells. My vision of going down in big surf is probably a lot different t...

Re: Stolen Kite on Hatteras 10/6

I will keep an eye out in the Tri-villages and spread the word. There is about 10 of us up there that ride nothing but drifters and would know immediately what a 2013 9m looks like. Blue and yellow correct? Do you think they were kiters by the way they dressed/looked? The whole thing is bizarre? If ...

Re: Stolen Kite on Hatteras 10/6

Have you contacted all the shops in case they try to sell it? A 6'2", 240 lb, guy with a shaved head riding a 9m Drifter would definitely stand out. REAL is having a swap meet until the 16th so they might try to sell/swap it there. Here are a few contacts if you do not have them. Others can add more...
