Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Re: foil breach recovery, I don't have a spitfre, but have been impressed how well my zeeko carver wing resists crashing when it breaches slightly. I often ride it pretty high over light chop (20-40cm) with rather frequent momentary wingtip or tail breaches - all I notice is a slight drop in lift fo...

Also don’t underplay the risk of getting your ass kicked on the beach by “people”
...or other creatures

Re: FlowFoils! Coming soon. Need advise!

WIth the ability to convert almost anything to foilboard, other cheap options plus a used market, $2000 for board & foil is not really powerful or the bottom of the market. If you can make the rest of carbon, the fuse can be carbon too. You just have to use plenty of carbon and good workmanship. You...

If you’re going carbon, go all the way.
Unless you can do a “fancy” al fuse like alpine or zeeko.
Al bar fuse is kinda lame.

Re: Pocket board rocker

I've read a bunch of posts and blogs on these and want to make one myself. Nose: Most builders seem happy with 10cm+ of nose rocker. Almost as much as a lot of surfboards, but in a tiny board. Keeps the nose from going down the hole when you come off foil. Opinions vary about tail rocker. for the sm...

Re: T-Tails on 50 and 70 cm masts

Interesting, your surf fin vertical tail rudder appears to give more area than most anything I can think of in kite foil tails. Looks like with the big "rudder" you also can/must shorten the fuselage to get the turning you want. To me this seems like a decent idea as the tail of the foil is the most...

Re: Anyone try the LiP Sunglasses (is Zeiss worth the extra $) ?

Polarized is good for fishing and cutting glare, avoiding shoals in boats... Sometimes too good, though - while kiting you need to see the surface of the water accurately to judge wave/chop shape, spot landings etc. This can be harder with polarization. And to me it's a stretch to go for perfection,...

Re: My new project : iGetwind.com

I’ve used GFS for years, all over the world and found the most accurate predictions I can make come from correlating GFS to a shorter term model. If there is no correlation, the GFS is usually wrong unless there is an obvious flaw in the comparator(s). If GFS correlates >1 other model and tracks loc...

And what about marky swindler? Never mind, don’t care to hear from him again either.
It’s too bad people act this way about sports.
