Re: Kiteboarding Boots - Weight?

Personal preference really. I ride Hyperlite systems and I love them. If I was to rock traditional boots I would probably go with the KTV/Shredtowns or a velcro binding. I really do not like laces. Too much of a pain when kiting and wake-boarding for me.

Re: Bomb proof kiteboard

Ton a Pop is good. All wood so very durable. It is heavy as balls though I know some people care about that. It's flex pattern is not what I like and a little bit much for my liking. Rode it for 2 years and it's still going strong. The new SS Refraction is what I ride now. Not as heavy and less rock...

Re: Compressed air Kite pump

Alex I think water is fine in your bladder even oil. But I think if you accumulate too much then I think it can affect your kite by weighing down and sloshing in the bladder. I live in Texas and kite where the humidity is very high usually in the 70% range. A water trap is needed before the air goes...

Re: Compressed air Kite pump

Time to pump up the thread. I occasionally hear that filling kites with a compressor isn't a good idea because they don't usually filter out the oil and other stuff the bladders don't like. Is it an urban legend? I have a 4x4 compressor with a 20gal tank. It is an oiless compressor so no worries on...

Don't stop rotating. You need to get both hands on the bar. If you concentrate on that it will help you to keep your rotation going. So after you pass keep pulling to your hip and get that other hand on the bar.

Re: Delaminated valves.

https://www.tear-aid.com/ You can get this stuff and patch your valves back on. Just cut them into 3" squares and round the corners with a hole in the center to the size of the valve. Remove most of the old plastic you can so you can get to the bladder ( some bladders have heat welded plastic you ma...

Corpus Christi is you only option during the summer months unless you go during a storm. You might wait till the fall mid to late Sep when the fronts start blowing thru. Houstonkiteboarding.com you can get all the info you need for them to set something up. Both Houston and CC are good spots to lear...

Re: TT bottom channels...does it matter?

The do help. But at the same time there has to be testing to make sure that they do work the way intended. You can over do it on them and kill a boards performance. I ride the Slingshot Refraction which does not have any channels and no concave. It makes for a loose ride for sure.

Re: Stupid beginner question -waves in your face?

I have to wear glasses due to wearing contact lenses. I hate them. Before I had Lasik I wore contacts. I switched over to a daily lens and never had a problem with them. You might want to try those for kiting too. You can carry some xtras if you lose one while in the water and you don't have to wor...

Re: Sanding / Painting my Sword 2

Is it carbon or aluminum? If it's carbon I would sand it down and epoxy the hot coat and not paint. I would do the same if it's aluminum but not sure. I know to paint aluminum you have to acid wash it for the paint to stick. Then again I'm lazy and would just sand down the nicks and leave it that.
