Re: Ozone Hyperlink 15 ?

Have you tried the 15m ChronoV3 UL yet? I think you might like it. The V3s have a quite similar feel to the Hyperlink in regards to Bar Force and turning.

Re: Moses 2018

The 633 resembles Ketos wave wings in many parameters. There is a little griping about this if you dig through the French foil forum. Have not heard of any formal accusations of stealing though, whoever the designer might be. Design elements of wing shapes, like boat hull shapes or surfboard shapes...

Re: Groove Skate

It rides like this: https://youtu.be/I4XUBfao4Ek and here my review of the board. https://youtu.be/uJ0Zqi1Gysc To answer your question on light winds. It has quite a bit of width (48cm) and volume. It actually easier to get going than my raceboard in marginal winds as it has so much surface area to ...

Re: Foiling. What next?

Hi Tomas, Glad to hear you are progressing. It is time to get rid of the single strap and go strapless. Being able to shift your front foot position will give you better control, which will also give you more confidence in the manoeuvres. You can learn toeside riding with or without the strap, but I...

Re: Better upwind performance

If one is using an SUP foil and a wave kite what change would yield significantly better upwind angles: different foil or different kite? If the answer is different foil (as I expect it is), are race foils significantly better than free ride foils as far as upwind angles? Thanks Hi. The others have...

Re: Kite Tech Tips: Brummel Splice

In the end. The video is about how I do it, and have done it since 2008. I have never had a line break that I have made myself. The line that I broke last week had no splice. -- Gunnar I realize you are not going to change your mind. You've been doing it this way for 10 years. Just keep it in mind ...

Re: Kite Tech Tips: Brummel Splice

How did you test it Gunnar? Because I have yet to find a line that exceeds it's listed strength by 150% Stretched the line using a pulley system and ratchet straps. Probably the same as most others use. Actually it should always be around 150% or more if the line is new. The manufacturers always at...

Re: Kite Tech Tips: Brummel Splice

It's not tapered. The brummel shown in the video somewhere around 50% a properly tapered splice and close to strength of a figure 8 knot. That is just not true. -- Gunnar I've done destructive testing with my own splices and it's what I've found. I can even tell you where the splice will snap. it d...
