Landing without a loop should score more, because you need more precise steering skills, as you read above as feedback from some guys who do kiteloops.
Therefore it should score higher due to risk factor.
I disagree. Landing regardless is the task at that point. Looping the kite looks better too.

Re: Kiteloop judging idea

I see all those kiteloop tricks, and noticed, all do a landing loop. When I try to land tricks, I have to be very precise with my kite steering, to not crash...landing loop barely possible because the kite is slow. So I am wondering, if this shouldn't be a judging criteria for more points? If you k...

Re: Naish Phoenix

Octopus inflation was great, I am convinced they only gave it away to appease keyboard warriors who were the vast majority whinging about it. Having owned a lot of Naish (and lots of other kites) I would pay a (small) premium for octopus. i thought sigma kites were also good, just not ‘trendy’. :th...

Re: Naish Phoenix

Anyone can comment Phoenix topend? Lowend is great, but what about topend? Is 9m usable at 30-40 knots? Definitely at 30 knots. I have had mine out in more than that, and it pulled like a truck, but damn fun. I do find it hard to say exactly what the wind was...because the wind meter showed 35+ but...

Re: Naish Phoenix

Was talking about their 5-strut jumping/hangtime kite range that they keep rebooting each couple of years with variable success: Shockwave, Helix, Charger, Draft and now the Phoenix Ok, but to me that is different than high performance. The Phoenix is a great kite that continues the tradition of th...

What is it with Naish and poor selling high performance tube kites, did any model ever lasted more than two seasons other than the Raven and X C-kite series?
Do you mean the pivot for instance is not a high performance kite?

Re: Naish Aluula Prototype

Wouldn't be too hopeful when the kite Naish designer now is a team rider with no background in aerodynamics...Aluula does certainly look like a pretty hard material to get right in a kite. Proof is in the pudding. When did they produce a dud last? I cannot remember. Allow me to refresh your memory....

Re: Slowest 6 or 7m kite for freeride?

Most people want a fast kite, which is good in larger sizes. What about the opposite? High winds tend to punish my ingrained bar habits when sizing down from mostly flying 10m to 8m pivots. I'm considering a 6-7 for high wind days, but want to slow it down a little. What are your thoughts on 6-7m k...
