Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything...

yes, i know.. but there is single skin foil kites, double skin foil kites, but had never heard of a double skin LEI. May be interesting, but I fear it would combine the disadvantages of both types of kites. Greg tried it and rejected it for the type of kite he wanted to make. He made a comedy video...

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything...

Peter, Why did you choose the 7'-0" Cruzader Pro at 78kg. Gong's website shows it is 122 L. Is the added volume an advantage or necessary for stability for the long narrow boards? It is not necessary for stability, no. But 122 litre is a small board when these kind of boards, and I chose the 7'0 af...

Re: Kitefoiling with Foil Drive assist

FoilDrive have improved the signal strength a bit. It depends on what type of kitefoiling? Even with the V2 controller I doubt you would maintain connection. Another kitefoiler at our local asked me if Foildrive and kitefoil could mix. We decided that in lighter wind if you actually managed to get ...

Re: How underrated is this sport?! Epic windsurfing drone

Excellent drone flying. The highlights video shows the action from a better angle. This is more a show of the maximum possible for humans to do with a sail and board in those conditions - than everyday windsurfing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eY9Cn7z5o-A A drone can make a jump look better - and...

Re: We need to talk about this: Pocket Foiling

I agree that it needs wind all the time, and isn't going to be suitable for light wind - even though a single skin kite flies in very light wind when dry. The situation where a packable/deployable kite might apply is when there has been consistent wind to build a local wind-driven swell and the wind...

Re: We need to talk about this: Pocket Foiling

It looks like he is using handles on the kite to allow him to get a bigger projected area when flying it and to not have a bar limiting the pack down size. It's advantage is that it is so small that it is easy to pack down and relaunch. Gunnar has used a single skin kite on 2m lines to foil upwind a...
