i will be driving around Italy for the next month, sicily up to turin along the Mediterranean side. I only want to bring one kite, 8m or 10m?

also is renting a board easy or should I bring one. I would rather rent if easy to do. I usually only ride a directional, are there any waves this time of year or should I bring freestyle board?

Grazie!!

Depends on your weight but 10 might be to small if u r around 70kg. There's more kitezone than kiteshop/rental in my experince so u should bring your own board. That's my experince travelling in Italy during June, July and August.

I Will be at Lignano Sabbiadoro (near Venice) on the first week of July. Just checked the historical weather and the wind is always under 8 knots. Is there any possibility of any thermal breeze in this zone???

I have got my first lessons in Lignano! 8) if necessary you can rent some stuff here http://www.islandsurf.it/
you should go on the "isola delle conchiglie" seashell islan, if the bora (very strong wind) does not blow, you will normally need a 12/14m for warm days in the afternoon.
Sicily is big... so is difficult to give you an answer but besides the strong days, normally in sicily during summer there is a nice steady termal wind but also there is not very strong 16knots...
enjoy :bye:

Lake Como is supposed to have thermal winds in summer, but I believe they are not totally reliable. I will check this out in July when I am on my way back from Grosseto/Tuscany. I would take both kites and probably a larger board.
The kite spots are at the northern end of the lake. Have a look at splocs.com
