I just bought & fitted a new Cabrinha chicken loop with a QR to my bar. Has anyone had any experience with this QR. Does it work well under tension?

I have tried the QR under full body weight. The difficulty of release did not increase one bit and it released very easily when I pulled it. The one problem you may have, is that it will NOT release unless its under significant load... The way I ride this is not a problem, I just unhook if the kite is luffing or whatever.

You can reduce the load necessarry to release by removing some or all of the velcro on the closing side of the QR. This can be done with a razor or heat. Just melt the loop side a little and the release will drop from 30 kg to 20 or less. Also if the QR is activared a few times it will get easier.
It is there as a last ditch type of release, not as a "oh, I guess I'll land my kite now...."

The other thing to remember with the Cabrinha quick release is once you pull it, you have to keep pulling it until it comes away.

Thanks for the input. I just want to know it will work when it's needed, otherwise it will just instill a false sense of security!

Fresh out of the bag and dry the Velcro will probably not open under load.
Water reduces velcros ability to hold by a great deal.
Open it up and reclose it before first use.
