Not sure what you mean by this Dwight. Plenty of people do this, infact many kite manuals recommend it. Naish documentation says that front pigatails offer max depower. So why wouldn't people use this information when they need it?
Because you select the front pigtail based on the grunt level you prefer. Reasons being body weight mostly. The results of this would be a slight change in depower stroke, but it should not be the primary reason for selection. It has a major affect in kite trim and power. It would not be fun for a light weight rider to chose the rear pigtail because he liked a shorter chicken loop stroke, then have poor jumping performance because the grunt level has too high for his body weight. I think the manuals tell you about the affects of these adjustments, but you need to be reasonable in why you select them.
