MissionMan wrote:To bring the kite into a side launch ready position:
Pull the red ball on either the left or the right outside leader line. The RECON tension fitting on the kite will unseat and contract the trailing edge on that side of the kite.
This creates lift only on that wing tip and the kite will roll into a side launch position.Release the leaderline ball and steer the kite back into the sky.
This feature should bring Cabrinha a pile of new customers who may be frustrated with kite relaunching.

Just when you think kiteboarding developed has peaked and no new ideas are coming through, you get surprised.
1. Gastra with the new bladder designs for the big kites
2. Cabrinha with the new safety/relaunch system
3. Wipika/Catellan with a new 5th line system that allows 100% depower and usage of a 16m in 40 knots.(see
http://www.ikiteboarding.com)
Looks like this sport is going places...hopefully we see this continue and it might make replacing your kite every year worthwhile.
I bet most of the people thought the only new developments would be kite materials, turning speed and jumping height...this is great.

Sorry Brad, I've corrected it. It just makes it difficult at times when the guys have to keep switching between URLs to view the different information, hence the reason I pasted the original comments on the ikiteboarding page.

Hi Brad
Have you tested it yet, or is this just information you are privy to as a sponsored rider? (because from what you wrote it sounds like you might have tested the system which is great)
If you have tested it, are you allowed to give any other feedback on the other improvements on the 2004 Cabrinha's (materials/performance) and/or whether the system can be used on the 2003 models? Your comments state the recon system is built into the batons and leading edge, but they also state it will work best on the new kites. Does this mean it will still work on the 2003's to some degree?

Who can explain how this works? Is this a system which the do it yourselfer could adapt to their bars? I can see notheing in the pictures, except a couple of red balls on the rears. Is this very different than the WIpika relaunch system?
