The windrange of the R20 is bigger than that of the R16!!! even the depower is much more better! But why,any ideas??

the 20 was the last Rhino2 developed, therefore it is close to the Rhino 04.
but the 16 has been improved and changed a bit, so since some shipments the 16 flies better now.

Whats the windrange on the R20, i want a light wind kite and R20 seems to be one of the best options but because the light winds here are usually 100% onshore i dont want to risk the kite to lift me on land during launching. In what windspeed does the R20 start lifting you on land. I understand that in the sea you can hold lot more power and ride but i want to know the windspeed that starts feeling overpowered in land.

The 20 was built with a flatter profile. This made the kite plane sooner than with thicker profiles. The kite generated more board speed, making it go upwind in less wind. This made it depower better too.

Let's not confuse wind range and upper range. The 16 works in higher wind. The 20 has big total range.

The 20 and 16 were released at the same time. I've had mine since November 2002. They were so popular they may have seemed like they weren't released early, simply because they were hard to get. Everyone under estimated their popularity.

About the 16s being improved. Only the first sample batch was different. Only a hand full of kites. Everybody has the better 16s.

This R20II thing is scary. Generates s...loads of power that you can, amazing enough, keep under control. But, with this kind of machine, you then run suddenly into a situation where the power grows big enough to give you a hell of a beating. 10 kts and life really starts, 16 kts and you start thinking whether its time go home and just a bit more wind, the thing will carry you home undepending on where you live...)). I´m even considering of having only two kites, the R20II and a 12 m2 kite. Ok, 17-18 kts would then be the critical range...

I can start in 10 knts and can hold it up to 21 knts.
But in 21 knts it is hard edging, but great fun when sending it!
