You just open the Black clip pushing the white ball (or teh clip directly) to get rid of all the stuff (Kite Bar...) included the safety. The connection is then split at the D-ring.

If you pull the Quickrelease the kite is furtheron connected to you bye the safety- leash (not shown aon the picture)

Oh sorry. Didn't read to accurate . I took it from an old Ailing- Harness. But i saw it in several Siling- Gear shops. Attention. You need those strange clamps to reduce the Force on the clip! And don't tighten the strap to much (not more than on the picture) otherwise you can kill the clip. I used to have an additional clamp to assure right distance between D- ring and "hook" but i lost it two weeks ago.

Greets,

Louis

Hey Louis, don't you loose everything?
If you could make a lsit of what you lost or broke, my god, hoe many hrs did you kite and how many hrs repair?
You are really not lucky!

But wishing you the best for the future!
When will I see you again?
(Still riding the board with the dent.. no problem, really!)

Greetings from the oceans

Hey Toby.. This is somewhat similar idea I mentioned on the post ( catch 22 situation )
Just a idea to go with your thaughts here..
what if you reversed the control bar loop on a 2 line kite... put the hoop on the harness and then with this same clip your looking at here.. put the hook onto the control bar w/ the orange nylon you see there. mount the whole clip to the bar... in danger just pull the ball it releases the hook, sending the kite on its way...now I would wonder how that may work somehow w/ a chicken loop...
but just and idea...
