Toby,
Come to Veracruz, Mexico. The wind is so strong it knocks down comercial signs all the time (15-35 knots). Besides, there are waves at a sand bar, and the water is warm. Not to mention great food, and partying. Tell me if you want more info,

Hi Andres,

Sounds great, I will think about it.
Steady winds from 15-35 knots?
That's what I need!

I have some spots to go to but I will give it a closer look. I'll keep in touch with you the next days.

Thx
Toby

Toby,
I have a few pictures of Acapulco, they are in the files section of the kitesurf group, under mexican pictures. The ones out on the water are at the princess hotel beach. The conditions here vary, I am not really sure of the wind speeds consistency. I was there three weeks ago, and the first day the wind got to around 20, the next it got to about 13 or 14, and the next to around 18, and the next to 20 again. I was there in May and got winds of about 16, and in January winds of about 13 or 14. The trips were all on weekends, so as you can see the wind is pretty consistent, considering I went on really random days. I have heard the wind sucks in Acapulco from June to August. As for Veracruz, I will investigate the wind speeds better and the seasons and I will inform you all. Another great spot is Progreso, Yucatan. They regularly get 25 knot constant wind. Here is the e-mail of the owner of a windsurf school there, his name is Pedro Pablo Silveira: silcer@multired.net.mx . hope this helped guys

In Auckland it's actually summer at new years and hence it's not cold. Generally speaking it's less windy than our winter but winds are better behaved so if you come bring your bigger kites.

Orewa, 40km north of the city gets really good NE sea breezes in the summer every now and then...

Heaps of spots to do to.....

Must admit though it's actually better here in the winter... if you don't mind the cold the winds can get quite strong..... just find the right beach and it won't be too gusty...

Well, we don't have a winter, but Jan is our best month with winds everyday from 15-25 knots, sunny and about 85 degrees.

Australia's East coast, especially the Jervis Bay region has excellent wind at that time of year. It's the peak of our windy season with frequent north east seabreezes of 15 to 25 knots.

Weather and water are warm and heaps of other things to do as well if you are up to it after a few solid days of kiting

Have fun, Dave (Dr Surf Australia Ph. 61 2 4443 7665)
