For those who have tried the X2´s...

Which do you think that is the best quiver?

16+10?
14+8?

14+10?

I am specially interested in comments about the small sizes. 8 or 10??

Do you think that the X2 8.0 is necessary or due to it´s wide windrange the x2 10.0 should be enough??

I am about 80 kg and use a twin tip.

Do you think that the X2 10 and the X2 14 are too close? or not?

thx

Mauro

Hi Mauro,

I weigh 90 kg and use the 10 and 14 at the moment, but I am still awaiting the 20 for light wind days.
So far, I have flown both kites during a 2 week vacation in Cabarete. The windranges I give you were readings other people took on the beach. So they might not be 100% correct.

The 14 and 10 complement eachother well for my weight. I could sail the 10 in 30+ knots, so I wouldnt want to use any smaller kite. The 14 started around 15 knots for me, but I didn't try with my lightwind wake, I guess that will extend the range downwards.

Although Don says they turn the same speed, the 10 is faster, simply because of the higher windspeeds you use it in. Both are very predictable and nice to sail, though. Just make sure that you get a 45cm bar with the 10, I got given a 60cm and found it too long - I flew the kite on the inner attachment points with this bar.

Hope this helps,
Nico

thank you Nico. I was planning to get the
X2 14+10 The x214 for those days between 10-18 knots and the X2 10 for 20knots to ...?

Do you think that the X2 10 can be used without too much stress those days with about 24-25 knots gusting to 28-29 knots???
i don´t go kite surfing with stronger winds.

Or should I go for the X2 8.0???

It all comes down to taste, technique, board,...
As said before, I was using the 10 in 30+, but then it isn't relaxed riding anymore. I leave it up to you to make guesses about the right kite size, since I didn't try to 8 and don't know your riding style. For example, I tend to you pretty large kites in comparison to other people (others: F-One Mach1 12.1, me X2 14, for example)
Cheers
Nico
