Has anyone heard of the X2 chicken loop to release out of the blue. That's what happened to me today, yanked the bar out of my hands, and needless to say the leash attached to the harness released also on
its own. Got lucky that a nice kitesurfer stopped it and another windsurfer dropped all his gear to wrap my lines and walk the kite back. I owe them.
Any ideas on how to make the chicken loop more reliable I 'd apreciate it.

hi
i have two x2-bars and i never had a problem with the chickenloop-quickrelease.
the thing i do is always check them if they are right connected, pull the tube down...or make some red tape at the ends of the chickenloop and if it is not covered by the neopren thing your should check the hole system..
and please use the saftey-leash, there were so many accidents with flying kites around...
i connect the saftey-leash to a swivil?? as well as the chickenloop so i can spinn the bar....
so have fun
see ya somewhere on the water

Here is some facts regarding the loop release:
If you have a chicken loop with a knot on the line just above the loop attachment you MUST remove that knot.
If the knot is not taken away, your loop might have an accidental opening which can be dangerous if you are in the air. Not to mention that you might loose your kite.
This because the knot will slide up under tension and create a too big space between the knot and loop so that the loop will not
go far enough into the tube to be locked.

I just managed to untie mine. It took me 20 minutes. I find that even just water on the line helps. Thanks for the postings on this topic everyone.
